They are charged via USB-C . This is a welcome change from older headsets’ micro-USB charging, as it means you don’t need to carry separate cables for your phone and headset. Audio quality These headphones new, organic, wraparound design is about 20% lighter than previous Titanium version which allows a more flexible fit. This leads to a more unnoticeable comfort and stability for wearing. If you don't strongly dislike conventional earbuds or headphones, it's hard to make a case for either the Air or the Titanium—they cost more, have less battery life, and don't offer a full musical range of audio reproduction. But they're outstanding for audio tasks centered on a relatively normal human speaking range, and their battery life is good enough for even heavy daily use. The OpenFit design of the headphones allows you to be fully aware of your surroundings as they do not obstruct or sit within your ears, making them great for use during outdoor sports or exercise, such as running or cycling, or if you need to be aware of your surroundings during work. Despite the open design of the headphones, sound leakage is minimal with only the high end of a song being audible from close-by. The headphones allow you to remain aware of your surroundings.

That said, if you're just after the Shokz Trekz Air for fitness use, then the battery will be great and easily last a marathon for nearly everyone. Standby time is also good—AfterShokz claims up to 20 days of standby time, which again seems a bit conservative. After leaving a Titanium headset off the charger for a week, it still registered 90 percent charge. A fully discharged headset requires a bit less than two hours to completely charge. The Air and the Titanium are also helpful with home school craziness—my wife can listen for questions and/or shenanigans from kids while podcasting, audiobooking, or taking calls, and my daughter finds them significantly better for class interviews and required multimedia consumption than the traditional headsets all three kids already had. The Good

AfterShokz lists "six hours of continuous music + calls on a single charge" for the Air and Titanium models alike. I easily exceeded that in my testing, with the charge level going down about 10 percent per hour while listening to podcast after podcast on long car trips.Re-enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium!” and then “pairing” and then the LED light will flash red and blue. This is going to be variable though as everyone is a little different and many may not be bothered by it and can crank it up! Style And Overall Look The headphones also come with some accessories, including a silicone rubber carrying case and earplugs within the box. It’s nice to see that a carrying case has been included to protect the headphones when not in use. Battery Life Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium! (or Aeropex, or Air)" and then “pairing” and the LED light will then flash red and blue.

That's partly to do with the materials used and the weighting and positioning of the various components, but it's also got to do with where the speakers themselves sit on your head. At least on the face that we tested them on, the Trekz Air sat comfortably within a small dimple area at the top of the jawbone. It's a really subtle, careful, clever design. In your second device’s Bluetooth settings, select the Titanium (or whatever model you're using). Audrey will say "Connected" or “Device 2 Connected.” Cue open-ear running headphones like the Trekz Air, which do away not only with noise isolation, but with intrusive earbuds altogether.

They offer 4 different color combinations which fit the normal combos: Blue, Red, Green and grey. Battery Life These are also so minimal looking that they aren’t immediately noticed on people wearing them as the thin frame helps make them blend better without drawing significant attention to themselves. The AfterShokz Trekz Air is a very likable sports headphone, particularly for people who want a secure fitting headphone that doesn't cover or prod their ears. The Air and Titanium both offer the exact same audio quality and battery life in my extensive testing. The major difference between the models is a thinner, lighter band on the Air that some users prefer. Also, the beep when adjusting the volume is significantly louder on the newer Air model—enough so that I found it a bit painful. Most importantly, they stay out of your ears completely—which is the big feature that drove me to buy them on an experimental basis in the first place. AfterShokz headphones don't leave you with sore or sweaty ears after hours of continuous use. The comfort factor isn't perfect—I find myself wanting to wiggle the headphones around a little after three or more hours—but it's a definite improvement.

The AfterShokz Trekz Air are next generation in style and weight of bone conduction technology. AfterShokz designed these as the lightest and most organically designed open ear headphones to date. Redesigned Open-Fit - Although AfterShokz Air feature a lightweight wraparound titanium frame that weighs in at only 30g grams, Aeropex boasts our lightest design yet, totaling at just 26 grams. Aeropex headphones also feature a redesigned transducer for minimized vibrations and a more snug fit. The headphones are one of AfterShokz more affordable options, so the features are a little limited in comparison to some of their higher-end models. The headphones feature a Bluetooth 4.2 connection, which I would like to see be updated to Bluetooth 5.0 in a future revision of these headphones. The headphones also feature an IP55 dust and water resistance rating which makes them great for use during exercise. Ear plugs and a carrying case are also included. Fully charges in an hour and a half, but a 15-minute charge provides enough boost to "get you through a long workout or marathon call" Shokz quotes a battery life of around six hours for the OpenMove (the same as the Air, and two hours less than the OpenRun. In our tests, this seemed to hold true – and is perhaps a modest estimate. A full charge lasted us closer to seven hours.First and foremost, these headphones are no match for a pair of in-ear earbuds, they will provide far better sound quality than these headphones – but these headphones have a specific purpose because of how they sound. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to try other bone conduction headphones, so this is my perspective of these headphones as someone who is predominantly a user of regular-style headphones and earbuds. The AfterShokz Trekz Air is a slimmed down bone-conduction headphone that offers improved sound and is very comfortable to wear, leaving your ears open to hear the outside world. It works well as a headset for making cell-phone call and comes with a nice carrying pouch.
